Martin Francúz – Master trainer

Specialisation: spine

My passion is sport, but at one point in my life I had to stop. Commercial bodybuilding workouts that put long-term strain on my spine, affected by Scheuermann’s disease and scoliosis, left me unable to do sport or live without pain and constant discomfort. This worsening condition forced me to understand the mechanics of the body and to experiment for years until I developed a system that lets people train and progress in the long term without pain and injuries. That is also why IKKOS was founded.

I graduated from FTVŠ as a strength and conditioning coach for competitive and elite sport. Certificates: XPS – EXOS Performance Specialist, XFS – EXOS Fitness Specialist, CFSC – Certified Functional Strength Coach, FMS – Functional Movement Screening, DNS – Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization, SS – Spiral Stabilization, MT Performance – Biomechanics, McGill Method 1 – Foundation for Pain-Free Back, McGill Method 2 – Assessment, McGill Method 3 – Enhancing Performance.

Dominik

I have been doing sport since I was a child. From the age of nine, ice hockey was number one for me. At around 13 I started thinking about improving my athletic performance. In the following years I had the honour of working with top strength and conditioning coaches who always pushed me forward and helped me improve as an athlete and as a person. Thanks to them I one day decided to end my sports career and become a strength and conditioning coach.

I specialise in functional training, improving fitness and compensating for desk work and one-sided strain. I currently also work as a strength and conditioning coach at HC Slovan Bratislava, where I am responsible for the conditioning of the youth teams and the men’s team Modré krídla Slovan.

I studied strength and conditioning coaching and teaching at FTVŠ UK in Bratislava. I have completed several courses in conditioning training and keep expanding my expertise. Certification: XPS – EXOS Performance Specialist, ACL – rehabilitation after knee injury, Hamstring, long-term athletic development of youth, Isometric Strength Training and Run Specific Isometrics.

Tono

I graduated from FTVŠ as a strength and conditioning coach for elite and competitive sport. I have 7 years of experience as a personal trainer. For four years I worked as a conditioning coach for the Zdeno Cíger hockey academy and for two years for HK Trnava.

I have completed many courses and earned several certificates: Physiotherapy in Weightlifting (Complex Core), Enter To Kettlebell, Optimal Movement Level.

I specialise in post-rehabilitation exercise, optimising movement patterns, strength training, weightlifting and weightlifting techniques, developing strength with weightlifting methods, weight loss and individual athletic preparation tailored to the client.

Miro

I have been interested in sport since I was little. Like many young boys, I loved football and played for clubs in both top Slovak leagues.

In secondary school I turned to athletics, specifically middle and long distances. Over ten years I became a multiple Slovak champion and made it into the national team. I competed at the European and World Cross Country Championships and won the European Cup in the 3000 m steeplechase.

Education: FTVŠ – Coaching. Thanks to my education and experience I specialise in functional training, weight loss and running training.

Certification: CFSC – Certified Functional Strength Coach.

Dávid

I have been involved in sport practically since childhood – from the youth categories up to the men’s team I played handball for HK Trnava. Unfortunately, the sport also brought frequent injuries, which over time made me pay more attention to my body, especially to eliminating movement disorders, imbalances and poor movement patterns. Later I completed a conditioning coach course to expand my knowledge and help other people with their problems.

Certification: Strength and conditioning coach (1st qualification level), Squat School, Weightlifting School, CFSC – Certified Functional Strength Coach.

Dávid

I completed my master’s degree at UMB Banská Bystrica in coaching and physical education teaching (specialisation: strength and conditioning coach). For four years I worked as a conditioning coach for the Zdeno Cíger hockey academy and for two years for HK Trnava.

I specialise in developing conditioning abilities depending on the sport and the individual athlete, weight loss, compensatory exercise and optimising movement patterns.

Certification: Biomechanics of weightlifting, Core – Level 1, Kettlebell training, DNS – Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization, XPS – EXOS Performance Specialist, Optimal Movement – Level 1, 2.

Erik

I have been actively doing strength and conditioning training since I joined the security and armed forces, where I served for 10 years.

During my career I completed self-defence and coaching courses, competed in powerlifting and work as a national powerlifting referee.

Like most active athletes, I have had injuries – lower back, shoulder and knee.

So I had to find a way to continue strength training in the long term and, above all, without pain, through never-ending learning.

I want to pass this knowledge on and lead people to healthy movement that improves their quality of life. I focus on strength training, correct execution of basic movement patterns, fat loss and muscle building.

Certification: CFSC – Certified Functional Strength Coach, Certified strength and conditioning coach, graduate of the Dobrý tréner project, Kettlebell – Ghiri sport, bodybuilding and powerlifting coach.

Michal

I am a strength and conditioning coach with more than 10 years of experience. In training I try to combine expert knowledge with common sense and a human approach. I emphasise safety, gradual progress and making sure training not only moves people forward but is also fun.

My goal is to help people build strength, improve their fitness, move without pain and achieve long-term, sustainable results. I focus on strength and conditioning, improving athletic performance, weight loss, muscle building, injury prevention and correcting faulty movement patterns.

Certifications and courses: Strength and conditioning coach (1st qualification level), STACA (Strength Training Academy) – Training Mastermind 1.0, Elite Performance Institute – Phase 1 Strength and Conditioning Training, Football Performance Seminar (Michael Clegg), Conditioning for competitive and elite sport (Martin Iterský), Modern hypertrophy (Martin Iterský), FMS – Functional Movement Screen, Physiological training (MUDr. Jan Hiblbauer).

“
I have tried several similar gyms where you can only train with a trainer, but I was never as satisfied as here. The space is pleasant, clean and really well equipped. Trainer Mirko is perfect – he can adapt training to various injuries with an emphasis on the client's safety. (translated from Slovak)
